Welcome
to the website of the club formally known as Plough
Eaton Bray. Although our pub has been taken over by
some rather friendly Indians and turned into the Monsoon
Tandoori Indian Restaurant, we are determined to continue
our rise up the Leighton and District Sunday Leagues.
Please
feel free to browse our website. Check out the different
features and please return to keep up to date with all
the latest Plough Eaton Bray news.
Please
note that the website is not fully functional at the
moment. There will be all new squad and player photo's
and profiles this year so we will let you know when
these have been loaded.
Manager
Praises Deciacco!
Johnstone
identifies reason for change of form:
Plough
Eaton Bray manager Dan Johnstone has singled
out Chris Deciacco's recent performances as
a major factor in the teams return to form.
Deciacco, who scored in the clubs 4-2 win over
Wayside at the weekend, had been on strike earlier
in the season after he publicly criticised the
way the club was being run. However, with Johnstone
taking over the management reigns on a permanent
basis the former Norwegian International has
returned to the club.
Johnstone
comments, "Obviously we missed Chris when he
wasn't playing for the club and there is no
denying that since he has been back, he has
been a major factor in the teams return to form.
I thought the midfield was lacking a bit of
muscle in his absence and I am very pleased
to have the player back with the club. Chris
is a very good role model for the young players
at the club both on and off the pitch. Hopefully
he can continue his good form and drive us onto
promotion contention".

Reddington
Misses Drugs Test!
Veteran
defender in hot water with FA:
Plough
Eaton Bray defender Kevin Reddington has been
charged by the FA pending a personal hearing,
after allegations were made that he missed a
drugs test. Testers were present last week at
the Plough training ground and took samples
from 4 other Plough players. However, Reddington
is accused of leaving the training ground before
giving a sample despite being reminded by fellow
players. If found guilty, Reddington could be
banned for up to 2 years.
The following is an official statement made
by the FA this morning:
"The
Football Association can confirm that we are
investigating allegations made against Mr Reddington
that he failed when asked to give a urine sample
for a random drugs test. We treat drugs offences
very seriously and if Mr Reddington is found
guilty then we will come down on him very hard".
Neither
the club or the player involved would comment
on this story but we can reveal that manager
Dan Johnstone will continue to select the player
in his match squad until the player is found
guilty.
Plough
Eaton Bray manager Dan Johnstone has taken Mark
Howard on trial at the club with a permanent
deal looking very likely. Howard is looking
to resurrect his career back at the club where
it all began 4 seasons ago.
Although cash is very tight at the club, the
Plough Board have allowed Johnstone the ability
to sign players on free transfers. Mark, who
can operate either as a winger or a striker,
is very pleased to be given another chance at
the Plough.
Howard
reveals, "I have been looking for a new club
for quite a while now and am very grateful to
Dan and the club for giving me a chance to prove
myself. Obviously I need to improve on my fitness
and get back into shape but I am raring to go
and will be looking to take full advantage of
any chance that I am given. I hold the club
very close to my heart and didn't really want
to ever leave the club in the first place. Since
walking back through the doors of the club,
it just feels like home and I know that I have
made the right decision".
Howard attended the Plough's victory over Wayside
at the weekend. He was introduced to the fans
at half time and received a very warm welcome.
Howard could feature in the match squad for
this Sunday's visit to CSBD Lions.
