LEE LOASBY - midfielder

Lee joined Plough Eaton Bray when the club first formed back in the summer of 2000. The manager at the time was his dad, Mick Loasby.

Lee has played a good standard of football throughout his life and this experience has made him a very valuable player to have in the team. Lee played with the majority of the Plough players both at school and at youth level for Edlesborough Gliders. He started his footballing days playing for Lewsey Farm. Lee won many medals in different competitions and as he improved as a player, he began representing Bedfordshire and the South of England. Lee even represented England in 1994 when he went over to America to play in a tournament promoting the 1994 World Cup.

Lee then went onto to play for Leighton Corinthians and Leighton Town both at youth level before he made the switch to Edlesborough Gliders so that he could start playing with his friends. At this time, Lee also started playing for Old Dunstablians who play in the South Midlands league. This was his first taste of adult football and he adapted to it like a duck to water.

Lee is a very adaptable player and has found himself to be asked to play a number of different roles for the Plough over the years. He started playing sweeper in the Plough's first season but was gradually moved into midfield where he formed a formidable partnership with Nick Howard.

Lee started the 2002-03 season on fire, putting in some outstanding performances that helped Plough Eaton Bray to siot on top of division 3 for long periods. However, Lee will be the first person to admit that he sometimes lets himself down with his discipline on the pitch and this is something that he will be aiming to correct next season.

Lee is a very influential member of the Plough squad. When he plays well, the whole team normally does aswell, with the majority of moves going from him. He found himself disappointed at the end of last season as he had to sit out the last four Plough games and he had to watch from the sidelines as his team mates battled for promotion and in the end just missed out.

Lee has been known to get involved with referee's from time to time and holds the worst disciplinary record for the Plough. He has promised to try and change this season though so we will be looking for a more mature player on the pitch!! Lee is also playing for Kents Athletic this season who are managed by his grandad and former Plough manager Alan Loasby.
